Some recent work…

Thursday, February 18th, 2010

Okay, so this blog is pathetic… I thought 2010 would be better than 2009 but some how it is more hectic than ever. If you hop on here you probably think I am never at work, which is just the opposite, I am never NOT at work. Oh, I miss the days where I could tuck my family in bed and snuggle with my kitty on my lap while I work until the sun starts to come up. Here is a little bit of what I have been up to. With more to come sooner than later, I swear!

tracyA spring wedding… I love the texture and feel of this invitation. My couple had a vision and together we made it a reality!

“Lucky in Love” is this couples theme. These magnets are awesome, you can see how thick and shiny they are!

boardingpass1This couple met in Med School in St. Martin and got engaged there so it was only appropriate that they get married there! The designed their save-the-date to look exactly like a boarding pass, I just helped them print it!

Back from the Beach and back to the Grind!

Isn’t this cute the trail of footprints from my daughter? I’ve always wanted to do this but can never get the right “imprint” either the sand is to hard or too soft, but I just happened to look at lexie coming to me and noticed the trail of itty prints behind her and grabbed my camera. It’s true some of the best shots are not planned!img_2070

Destination Wedding - Starfish Invitation

Wednesday, May 20th, 2009

I just mailed out a proof last week for a destination wedding. The wording on this one got tricky because they are having a reception at home BEFORE the actual wedding in Jamaica. This is when it’s great to work one-on-one with a designer to make sure your order is tailored to your specific needs. We did one set for the reception and a “special” set for the Jamaica ones that will include sending guests a starfish adorned petal fold invitation in a box! When this bride first came to me she found her dream invitation but it was almost $30 a set and had a minimum order of 25 (she only need half that) we worked together to design her dream invitation in her budget!

Project Status for April 27th-May 2nd

Monday, April 27th, 2009

We had a beautiful (hot) weekend at the cabin. Saturday we drove to a fish hatchery in NY to get some minnows, bass and grass eating carp for the pond. We had to get a permit for the carp and were allowed 2 for our pond. We hope they eat all the algae we have for them and can swim in a clear pond this summer. Lexie and I wadded in the muck this weekend. It was just too hot not to get in the water. She had fun looking at tad poles, finding worms in the bulbs we dug up and even kissed a toad that we found living under our porch. So now it’s back to reality. Here is what is on my plate for this week…..

Elegant Second Wedding Invitation

Thursday, March 19th, 2009

I had the pleasure of working with this couple on invitations for invitations to what was both their second wedding. The ceremony was just for family followed by a dinner and then a champagne toast and dessert which all the friends were invited to. We did 2 separate invitations and RSVP cards since not everyone was invited to the wedding but all was invited to the reception. The bride choose an ivory linen card to be mounted onto a textured white card with espresso ink. I would not have thought to combine these colors myself and was pleased with the subtlety yet contrast they provided.
